Crazy Volunteers!

This is an email from one of our newest volunteers. We are so very blessed at The LOT Project to have a great group of volunteers, who selflessly serve others. We want to say thank you to each and every one of you who support us with your most precious resources! You are a blessing to us! We believe that The LOT Project is a move of God, and the recent growth in our programs is proof that God is moving! I hope you enjoy this one example of how God is using those who are willing, to move in supernatural ways!

As a new volunteer to The LOT Project, I along with my small group from church served a meal a few weeks ago. As we were setting up and preparing to serve, I made a comment to one of the volunteers that our small group was crazy! What I mean by that is that all are crazy in love with Jesus! Crazy about serving the Jesus we love! Crazy about each other as well as the the least of these! I saw the body of Christ in full function Tuesday as I noticed each one of the group operate in the gifts the Lord has given them. I was blessed as Linda took each hand lovingly as tickets were turned over to her. She smiled, she hugged, she prayed and she loved the least of these! Vickie served well as she went all around to make sure all needs were being met as well as cleaning up after me and Phyllis after we filled cups with chili. I shouted orders to Bill and Rhonda and they were there with more cups, lids, napkins and anything else needed. Ann and Pat were gracious as they dispensed corn muffins and deserts. Michael worked hard passing out drinks, while taking time to laugh with the children. I saw Greg mingle with the folks, pray with them, and I am sure his mind was working on how can we as a group better serve the least of these. Phyllis and I watched Tom help with the dispensing of clothes and share with the folks, as he had help from Linda's son. Kayla was sharing her warm smile with others and helping in any area needed. I have said all of this to encourage volunteers. We are gifted with gifts that enable us to minister to the least of these, and I saw the gifts being used as they flowed naturally by a supernatural God! Yes, I am crazy about serving the least of these!

Why We Are Here

Everyonce in a while you get a reminder of why we are doing what we are doing. It is such an amazing opportunity to share with you an email that one of our volunteers recently sent us.

"OH! How I love Jesus!!! I had no plans yest to go to the Lot. My friend that volunteers there came by and reminded me I could go yest to get some clothes for my son. My husband and I are divorcing after 25 yrs of marriage. He has wanted a divorce since he began dating a woman. He moved in with her in July. Our 12 year old son was devastated and it's been the most painful time we have ever experienced. I had been thinking that I needed to get my son involved in a service organization. I decided to stop by The Lot and look for 2 shirts for my son. Well, Praise the Lord Kat told me I could help serve. My son and I signed up. Some boys came in that looked my son's age. My son said, "Mom, I'm not getting anything for me until they get what they want". OH!!!!! Praise Jesus Christ for that experience last night for both of us. We've had our minds so fixed on our pain and helping those people find clothes made us FEEL GREAT! If it's the Lord's will, we will come next Mon and Tues. I attend the Sanctuary of Praise Pentecostal church here in Anderson. I will pray for you, the volunteers, and the people that come. It was a pleasure to meet you and hear you. "

This is why we are here!
